Apply for Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES · Full-time
Role Overview
The firm is recruiting a Managing Director to lead its Mergers & Acquisitions practice in New York. The role carries P&L responsibility, oversight of mandate origination and execution within the relevant market, senior representation of the firm to its principal client base, and direct mentorship of the practice's senior practitioners. Managing Directors at the firm operate as principals, not employees.
The firm's positioning is deliberate. Where larger institutions distribute origination across senior managing directors and divide execution across functional teams, the firm has built a distributed origination model that unbundles the rainmaker function and a proprietary network that provides genuine leverage on deal sourcing, capital introduction, and execution across jurisdictions. The platform is designed for senior practitioners who want the autonomy to build a practice with the brand, infrastructure, and network of an established advisory firm behind them.
The role is structured for senior practitioners with substantive existing books and the recognised market presence to engage at principal-to-principal level on the firm's most significant transactions. The expectation is not just origination — it is the ability to set strategy, develop the next generation of senior practitioners, and contribute to the firm's institutional positioning in the relevant market.
